Final report and results - Meet the 2023 Inclusive Sailing European champions!
The 2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Sailing European Championship ended today after the fifth day of racing in the waters of the Mar Menor in Murcia.
As throughout the week, the light wind also marked the sailing conditions today.
With two new races, the Hansa 303 Individual class was able to complete the 10 scheduled races, while the Doubles were able to complete only one today, closing the tournament with 9.
The Polish sailor and current world champion Piotr Cichocki was the great protagonist of the week, achieving the gold medal in his 3 competitions: Open Individual, Inclusive Men’s Individual and Doubles, the latter together with his partner Olga Gornas-Grudzien.
A bad afternoon today displaced the Spaniard Alex Solera Quiroga from first place in the Open Individual, who finally finished second, just 3 points behind the champion.
The Bronze medal in Open and the Silver medal in Inclusive were finally in the hands of the English sailor Rory Mc Kinna.
The Bronze in Men’s Inclusive went to the Portuguese Joao Pinto.
The Catalan sailor Aina Gelpí managed to maintain first place today and became the European champion of Women’s Inclusive Sailing, escorted on the podium by the Polish Olga Gornas-Grudzien and the Spanish three-time world champion Violeta del Reino.
In Doubles, the Polish duo was accompanied on the podium by the Italian sailors Lucia Garau / María Atzori and the Portuguese team formed by Joao Pinto / Luciana Matias.
Towards the end of the afternoon, the closing and prize giving ceremony took place, which was kindly attended by Secretary General of the Department of Social Policy Leopoldo Olmo; the General Director of the Mar Menor, Victor Serrano; the president of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia, Arturo García Pallarés; the Mayor of Los Alcázares Mario Pérez Cervera, among others.
This way the 2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Sailing European Championship concludes with great success and many happy faces, organized by the Mar Menor Nautical Club and EUROSAF Academy, with the support of the regional government of Murcia and the CAR.

Finalizó hoy el Campeonato Europeo de Vela Inclusiva EUROSAF 2023 tras el quinto día de regatas en aguas del Mar Menor en Murcia.
Como en toda la semana, el viento ligero marcó hoy también las condiciones de navegación.
Con dos nuevas regatas, la clase Hansa 303 Individual pudo completar las 10 pruebas programadas, mientras que los Dobles pudieron completar solo una el día de hoy, cerrando el torneo con 9.
El regatista polaco y vigente campeón del mundo Piotr Cichocki fue el gran protagonista de la semana, logrando la medalla dorada en sus 3 competiciones: Individual Abierto, Individual Masculino Inclusivo y Dobles, este último junto a su compañera Olga Gornas-Grudzien.
Una mala tarde desplazó hoy del primer lugar en Individual Abierto al español Alex Solera Quiroga, quien finalmente quedó segundo a tan solo 3 puntos del campeón.
La medalla de Bronce en Abierto y la de Plata en Inclusivo quedaron en manos del regatista inglés Rory Mc Kinna.
El Bronce en Inclusivo masculino fue para el portugués Joao Pinto.
La regatista catalana Aina Gelpí consiguió hoy mantener el primer lugar y consagrarse campeona europea de Vela Inclusiva Femenina, escoltada en el podio por la polaca Olga Gornas-Grudzien y la española y tres veces campeona del mundo Violeta del Reino.
En Dobles acompañaron a la dupla polaca en el podio los regatistas italianas Lucia Garau / María Atzori y los portugueses Joao Pinto / Luciana Matias.
Hacia el final de la tarde se realizó la ceremonia de cierre y entrega de premios, a la que asistieron el Secretario General de la Consejería de Política Social Leopoldo Olmo; el Director General del Mar Menor, Victor Serrano; el presidente de la Federación de Vela de la Región de Murcia, Arturo García Pallarés; y el Alcalde de Los Alcázares Mario Pérez Cervera, entre otras autoridades.
Concluye así con gran éxito y muchas caras felices este Campeonato Europeo de Vela Inclusiva EUROSAF 2023, organizado por el Club Náutico Mar Menor y EUROSAF Academy, contando con el apoyo del gobierno regional de Murcia y el CAR.

Championship's dinner - Great time all together
Thursday evening graced us with a splendid gathering as we hosted a special dinner to celebrate the 2023 European Inclusive Sailing Championship in Los Alcázares.
Competitors, volunteers, organizers, and authorities, all came together to relish a delectable dinner, complemented by captivating live music and dancing.
This remarkable event was orchestrated by Club Náutico Mar Menor de los Alcázares, in collaboration with EUROSAF Academy, under the stewardship of Rafa Gonzalez, and garnered support from the regional government of Murcia and the CAR.
Stanislav Kassarov, representing EUROSAF, took the opportunity to convey a resounding message about EUROSAF’s dedication to the Mar Menor and the region of Murcia, while also presenting honors to the distinguished officials in attendance.
Among the dignitaries present were Victor Serrano, General Director of the Mar Menor, and Arturo García Pallarés, President of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia. Concluding the evening with an emotional toast involving all participants was Mario Pérez Cervera, Mayor of Los Alcázares, who aptly described Los Alcázares as a “sailing-friendly city,” echoing the event’s slogan.
Competidores, voluntarios, organizadores y autoridades, todos juntos hemos disfrutado de una deliciosa cena acompañada por muy buena música en vivo y baile.
El evento, organizado por el Club Náutico Mar Menor de los Alcázares y EUROSAF Academy en la persona de Rafa Gonzalez cuenta con el apoyo del gobierno regional de Murcia y el CAR.
En representación de EUROSAF, Stanislav Kassarov se dirigió a los presentes con un contundente mensaje de apuesta de EUROSAF por el Mar Menor y la región de Murcia, entregando a las autoridades presentes unas distinciones.
Acompañaron al mismo el Director General del Mar Menor, Victor Serrano; el presidente de la Federación de Vela de la Región de Murcia, Arturo García Pallarés; y cerró el acto, con un emotivo brindis con todos los participantes, el Alcalde de Los Alcázares Mario Pérez Cervera, quien definió a Los Alcázares como una “ciudad amiga de la vela”, como reza el eslogan.
Race day 4 report and results
The fourth day of the 2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Sailing European Championship concluded today at Mar Menor in Murcia, Spain.
Light winds varying from 5 to 7 knots, small waves and bright sun marked the sailing conditions.
Two new races were added to both fleets, Doubles and Singles, classifications, imposing some changes in the leading positions.
With 8 races held so far, the Open Individual championship remains in hands of the Spanish sailor Alex Solera Quiroga with 12 points, followed just 1 point behind by the Inclusive Individual championship leader, the reigning world champion Piotr Cichocki with 13. In The third Open and second Inclusive place remains to the British sailor Rory Mc Kinna with 35 units. The third Inclusive place corresponds to the Portuguese Joao Pinto with 45.
The Catalan Aina Gelpí continues to lead the Inclusive Women’s championship with 51 points. She is followed by the Polish Olga Gornas-Grudzien and the Spanish Victoria del Reino, both equal at 79 units.
In the Doubles championship and with a perfect score, the Polish team formed by Piotr Cichocki / Olga Gornas-Grudzien have already become champions in advance with 8 units. They are followed by the Italians Lucia Garau / María Atzori, and the Portuguese Joao Pinto / Luciana Matias with 22 and 23 units respectively.
For tomorrow, last day of racing, the forecast announces more of light wind conditions.

Una nueva jornada del Campeonato Europeo de Vela Inclusiva EUROSAF 2023 se disputó hoy en aguas del Mar Menor en Murcia.
Vientos leves, de 5 a 7 nudos, una mar calma y un sol brillante marcaron las condiciones de navegación.
Dos nuevas regatas fueron agregadas a las clasificaciones de ambas flotas, Dobles y Singles, imponiendo algunos cambios en los puestos de vanguardia.
Con 8 regatas disputadas hasta el momento, el campeonato Open Individual sigue en manos del regatista español Alex Solera Quiroga con 12 unidades, escoltado a tan solo 1 punto por el líder del campeonato Individual Inclusivo, el polaco campeón del mundo Piotr Cichocki con 13. En el tercer puesto Open y segundo Inclusivo se mantiene el inglés Rory Mc Kinna con 35 unidades. El tercer puesto Inclusivo corresponde al portugués Joao Pinto con 45.
La catalana Aina Gelpí continúa al frente del campeonato Inclusivo Femenino con 51 puntos. Le siguen la polaca Olga Gornas-Grudzien y la española Victoria del Reino, ambas igualadas en 79 unidades.
En el campeonato de Dobles y con puntación perfecta se han consagrado ya campeones por adelantado los polacos Piotr Cichocki / Olga Gornas-Grudzien con 8 unidades. Los escoltan las italianas Lucia Garau / María Atzori, y los portugueses Joao Pinto / Luciana Matias con 22 y 23 unidades respectivamente.
Para mañana, último día de regatas, se preveen nuevamente condiciones de viento ligeras.

Race day 3 report and results
Winds of 6 to 11 knots accompanied the competitors today on the third day of racing of the 2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Sailing European Championship taking place in Los Alcázares, Murcia, Spain.
Two were the tests completed this afternoon by both fleets, Single and Double, now adding six in the general classification.
With two days left, the Open Individual fleet is now led by the Spanish sailor Alex Solera Quiroga with 7 points, just one unit ahead of the reigning world champion of the class, the Polish Piotr Cichocki. Third place goes now to British sailor Rory Mc Kinna with 20 points.
The aforementioned Piotr Cichocki and Rory Mc Kinna lead the Inclusive Men’s championship with 8 and 20 points respectively, followed by Portuguese sailor Joao Pinto with 29.
The Inclusive Women’s championship is led by the Spanish Aina Gelpí with 34 points, followed by the 3-time world champion Violeta Del Reino and the Polish Olga Gornas-Grudzien, with 50 and 64 points respectively.
In the Doubles championship the Polish duo Cichocki / Gornas-Grudzien remains unbeatable, triumphing in the 6 races held. The Italians Lucia Garau / María Atzori, and the Portuguese Joao Pinto / Luciana Matias complete the provisional podium with 11 and 16 units.

Vientos de 6 a 11 nudos acompañaron hoy a los competidores en la tercera jornada de regatas del Campeonato EUROSAF de Vela Inclusiva 2023 que se disputa en Los Alcázares, Murcia, España.
Dos fueron las pruebas cumplidas esta tarde por ambas flotas, Individual y Dobles, sumando ya seis en la clasificación general.
A falta de dos jornadas, la flota Individual Abierta es liderada ahora por el regatista español Alex Solera Quiroga con 7 puntos, tan solo una unidad por delante del vigente campeón mundial de la especialidad, el polaco Piotr Cichocki. El tercer lugar es para el regatista británico Rory Mc Kinna con 20 puntos.
Los mencionados Piotr Cichocki y Rory Mc Kinna encabezan por su parte el campeonato Inclusivo Masculino con 8 y 20 unidades respectivamente, escoltados por el portugués Joao Pinto con 29.
El campeonato Inclusivo Femenino es liderado por la española Aina Gelpí con 34 unidades, seguida por la 3 veces campeona del mundo Violeta Del Reino y la polaca Olga Gornas-Grudzien, con 50 y 64 puntos respectivamente.

Race day 2 report and results
Two new races were held today on the second day of competition of the 2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Sailing European Championship taking place in Los Alcazares, Murcia.
Light to moderate winds during the late afternoon marked the sailing conditions.
With 4 races completed, the Hansa 303 individual championship continues to be led by the Polish sailor Piotr Cichocki with 7 units, escorted now by the Spaniards Alex Solera Quiroga (winner of both races today) and Jose Antonio Antón Olmos, with 13 and 23 units respectively.
The Polish Piotr Cichocki also leads the doubles championship along with his partner Olga Gornas-Grudzien, achieving a perfect score so far. They are followed by the Spaniards Daniel Llaca Díaz and Jaime Lang Lenton with 14 points, and the Portuguese Joao Pinto and Luciana Matias with 15 units.

Dos nuevas pruebas se disputaron hoy en el segundo día de competencia del Campeonato EUROSAF de Vela Inclusiva 2023 que se desarrolla en Los Alcazares, Murcia.
Vientos leves a moderados durante el final de la tarde marcaron las condiciones de navegación.
Con 4 pruebas disputadas, el campeonato de Hansa 303 individual sigue siendo liderado por el regatista polaco Piotr Cichocki con 7 unidades, escoltado ahora por los españoles Alex Solera Quiroga (ganador de ambas regatas el día de hoy) y Jose Antonio Antón Olmos, con 13 y 23 unidades respectivamente.
El polaco Piotr Cichocki lidera también el campeonato de dobles junto a su compañera Olga Gornas-Grudzien, consiguiendo hasta aquí puntación perfecta. Les siguen los españoles Daniel Llaca Díaz y Jaime Lang Lenton con 14 puntos, y los portugueses Joao Pinto y Luciana Matias con 15 unidades.
Race day 1 report and results
The first two regattas of the 2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Sailing European Championship took place today under winds ranging from 6 to 10 knots.
Dominating the day’s competitions was the outstanding Polish sailor, Piotr Cichocki, who claimed victory in both Single races, and also secured top honors in the two Double races alongside his partner, Olga Gornas-Grudzien.
Single’s provisional podium features Spain’s José Antonio Antón Olmos and Britain’s Rory Mc Kinna, both amassing 7 points in their respective performances.
In the Doubles category, the Portuguese duo of Joao Pinto and Luciana Matias, as well as the Spanish team of Daniel Llaca Díaz and Jaime Lang-Lenton, stood shoulder to shoulder with the leaders, each tallying an equal 7 points.

Con vientos de 6 a 10 nudos se disputaron hoy las 2 primeras regatas del Campeonato Europeo de Vela Inclusiva 2023 de EUROSAF en Los Alcazares, Murcia.
El gran ganador del día ha sido el regatista polaco Piotr Cichocki, adjudicándose el primer lugar en ambas pruebas individuales, como así también las dos pruebas dobles del día junto a su compañera Olga Gornas-Grudzien.
En individuales completan el podio provisional el español José Antonio Antón Olmos y el británico Rory Mc Kinna, ambos con 7 puntos.
En dobles son los portugueses Joao Pinto y Luciana Matias y los españoles Daniel Llaca Díaz y Jaime Lang-Lenton quienes secundan a los líderes, igualados también en 7 unidades.

Practice Race day report
After 2 days of registration and equipment inspection, all competitors enjoyed of two practice races yesterday at Mar Menor in Los Alcazares, Murcia, as their final preparation for the 2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Sailing European Championship that will kick off today at 12:00.
25 single and 10 double boats representing Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Turkey are being part of the competition.
10 races (2 races per day) are scheduled until Saturday 30th when we’ll meet the new 2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Sailing European champions.

Tras de 2 días de registro e inspección de equipos, todos los competidores disfrutaron ayer de dos regatas de práctica en el Mar Menor de Los Alcázares, Murcia, como preparación final para el Campeonato Europeo de Vela Inclusiva EUROSAF 2023 que comenzará hoy a las 12:00 horas.
25 barcos individuales y 10 barcos dobles representando a Gran Bretaña, Italia, Polonia, Portugal, España y Turquía participan de la competición.
10 regatas (2 regatas por día) están programadas hasta el sábado 30, cuando conoceremos a los nuevos campeones europeos de Vela Inclusiva EUROSAF 2023.
